Jessie J wanted to be a mother by 30 and she sometimes feels ‘overwhelmed’ after her miscarriage nine months ago.

The 34-year-old Price Tag hitmaker has candidly opened up on ‘the grief of losing a baby’ and told her Instagram followers how tough it can be after her devastating loss in November 2021.

She wrote alongside a picture of herself as a teenager: ‘When I was 16 years old I wrote a list of things I wanted by the time I was 30 – 1st thing on the list was to be a Mum.

‘Now I’m nearly 35 and some days the grief of losing a baby and it not being easy to have one, and wanting my life in that way to look completely different to what it looks like right now just overwhelms me.’

The pop star acknowledged that having ‘good and bad’ days is ‘healthy’, and while she usually deals with the lows in private she decided to speak out to try and help people in similar situations.

She continued: ‘I know it’s healthy and normal to have days of complete sadness and to honour all the feelings that come up, good and bad.

‘The bad isn’t often at all and yes I could go through this moment right now today alone in private and usually do, but today I am here.

‘Because I know thousands of people around the [world] feel just like I do. Maybe you read this and feel the love I have for you. I hope you can. Connecting is key. Hugging you all’.

Her fans were quick to respond in the comment section, with one follower echoing the sentiments of many and writing: ‘Sending love and hugs back to you’.

The Do It Like A Dude singer, who was previously told she could not conceive a child, surprised fans when she shared that she had become pregnant with her first child in November 2021, but simultaneously revealed she had miscarried the baby.

She has since found love with basketball player Chanan Colman, and recently admitted she is still hoping to have a baby one day as she spoke to her fans during a show at London’s Koko in Camden.

‘Being 34 in this outfit is different now,’ the singer reportedly told the audience, referring to her striking multi-coloured bodysuit.

She continued according to The Sun: ‘When I talk to my parents after a gig I take it off. This whole celebrity thing is so weird to me and how people are even more obsessed with how I look than I am.

‘I have gained weight and I’ve not been to the gym in ages, but honestly, I feel great. I’m not 17 any more and I want to make a baby and I am trying to do that and my body is changing shape.’
