Vanessa Hudgens Is the Latest to Try the “Glazed Doughnut” Nail Trend
Vanessa Hudgens put her own twist on Hailey Bieber’s new favorite nail trend. On Tuesday, the actor took the “glazed doughnut” nails trend for a test run courtesy of manicurist Zola Ganzorigt, the mastermind behind the glossy design. While Bieber’s manicure turned out a glistening nude, Hudgens went for an extra-sweet, opaque-white look that has us craving a trip to the nail salon.
“When ya nails match ya pearls,” Hudgens captioned photos of the manicure on her Instagram Stories, which she paired with a Mudd Pearl necklace and an oversize shirt with pearlescent buttons. Like the chrome nails we’ve been seeing all over the red carpet, Hudgens’s nails gleam, reflecting light from every angle, while maintaining the understated simplicity of Bieber’s signature.
Bieber and Ganzorigt first stumbled across the design when they were working together for the 2022 Met Gala. “[Zola] was like, ‘Do you wanna see it with the chrome dust?’” Bieber previously told POPSUGAR. “I’ve done chrome before, but I had never done it with a thin coat of polish before — and as soon as we did it, I was like, ‘I’m sticking with this. This is my new phase.’” The layering makes all the difference, taking Bieber’s neutral and Hudgens’s white manicure to a whole new level.
