BUYING an old home and having the skills to know how to transform it is something that not many people have.
But one couple, Marisa and Chris, known on TikTok as Oak Apple Decor, are experts at all things DIY and have taken to social media to show off their latest transformation.
Together the couple design and create unique and beautiful spaces and recently purchased an old, derelict chapel, with the aim of giving it a complete upgrade.
The chapel hadn’t been touched in decades and was a complete mess on the outside and inside.
But the couple set to work on giving the chapel a new lease of life, by rebuilding the inside, adding a first floor and an extension.
The couple said: “We want to make having a beautiful home something that is possible for everyone, whether that's through using our professional services or through inspiration and tips here on our blog and via our instagram account.

The couple took to TikTok to show off their chapel transformation and it has left many people stunned.
They posted the video with the caption ‘The chapel renovation….a very quick overview of this project!’
The pair said: “We bought a derelict chapel that hadn’t been touched in decades.
“Completely rebuilt it from the inside.
“Added a first floor and an extension.
“Installed a new roof using reclaimed tiles.
“Then got to work on the interior, creating a spacious and welcoming home”.
In the video, the couple show off the chapel renovation and how it went from a mess, to many people’s dream home.
The couple completely ripped out the insides of the chapel and built an extension and an upstairs – to turn it into a modern home.
At the end of the video we see the transformed chapel and not only is it stunning but it’s difficult to believe that it was a run-down chapel in the first place.
It is now a spacious home with a glamorous, modern kitchen, a stunning grey staircase and a large family bathroom, with a free-standing bath and a walk-in shower.
The home has wooden beams, giving it a unique feel and the bedrooms are modern, yet chic and cosy.
The outside of the home has retained some of its previous appearance, but has a new roof, new windows and a new modern front door.
In just twenty hours, the couple’s video has clearly impressed many, as it has racked up a whopping 1.5million views.
It has 126.5k views, 940 comments and 3,042 shares.
TikTok users loved the chapel transformation and took to the comments to express this.
One person said: “Excellent job, just go to show how an old building can be transformed into a great looking home”.
Another added: “Fantastic transformation and another historical building preserved, doing great work”.
