It's hard to believe that after eight weeks on screens,Love Islandis over for yet another year.
This year’s series sawEkin-Su CülcüloğluandDavide Sanclimenticrowned winners and as thepair returned to the UK they looked as in love as ever.
Ekin-Su and Davide, both 27,were voted the winners ofon 1 August, bagging a joint £50,000 cash prize as they beat runners-upGemma OwenandLuca Bish.
The four of them joined the rest of the finalists – Dami Hope, Indiyah Polack, Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page – in anemotional reunion at Stansted airportas this year’s Islanders finally reunited with their families after weeks apart.
Ekin-Su looked her usual chic self as she dressed in a pair of leather trousers and sandals paired with a black top and denim jacket. While Davide kept it casual in black jeans and a grey hoody.
Ekin-Su was greeted by pal Mabel, who had been manning her Instagram account during her time on the show.
Her pal caught on camera the sweet moment the winner shared a hug with her brother who presented her with flowers.
Ekin-Su’s mum appeared on the show during the Meet the Parents episode, but due to Covid fears, none of the Islanders weer allowed to hug their families while still in the villa. The airport reunion saw Ekin-Su greeted by her mum and dad.
Davide was joined by a group of his guy pals who posed for sweet snaps with their arms around each other.
Luca and Gemma proved their love was stronger than ever as they dressed in matching outfits for their trip back to the UK.
As both were greeted by their families, it seems that Gemma finally met Luca’s sister in one clip posted to Instagram.
Elsewhere Indiyah shared a sweet moment as she reunited with her family and posted a snap of them holding hands in the car, while her partner Dami posed with Tasha’s dad for a snap.
Tasha shared an emotional reunion with her family and was a picture of joy as she posed with her mum.
According to ITV figures, Ekin-Su and Davide won the Love Island final by 63.69% of the final vote.
Runners-up Gemma Owen and Luca Bish received 14.47% of votes, Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope had 11.77% of the votes and Tasha and Andrew had 10.07%.
Showing their appreciation to their followers after they won the series, Ekin-Su said: "Thank you everyone for voting us and thank you for making us who we are."
Davide then added: "I didn't expect, I still don't believe it," to which Ekin-Su said: "I can't believe it, I think everyone's winners in here and I just feel really lucky to be here."
"We are all four great couples, but yeah thank you for everyone" Davide stated.
Ekin-Su then added: "Thank you for everyone, literally for going on our journey with us, it means so much, so much."
Speaking in Italian, Davide then said: "Grazie a tutti for voting us," while Ekin-Su shouted: "We love you, ti amo!"
