TV’S Fern Britton says her passing a Mensa test led to divorce.
First hubby Clive Jones failed the same challenge — sparking a rift.
Ex This Morning and Strictly star Fern, 64, told a podcast: “He had this degree and I don’t. I secretly went off and did the Mensa.
“I lied, I said I was going somewhere else, and it took a day to do this test. I passed — and quite well too.
“Then he was furious so he did it because he’s got a huge brain. But he’s not a problem solver and he didn’t get it. So an immense rift opened.”
Fern split with telly executive Clive, dad to three of her four children, in 1998 after a decade of marriage.

She wed TV chef Phil Vickery in 2000, but they split in 2020.
Fern said she was never sure how intelligent she was until she took the Mensa test.
But she insists she suffers imposter syndrome despite writing ten books since leaving This Morning in 2009.
She believes she could have hosted Newsnight if taking her TV career more seriously. And she said: “Some people think: ‘Oh she’s too stupid’ but I’m bright actually.”
